In 2019 Tri-C Ghost Hunters teamed up with the Wandle House Museum in Brewster, Ohio to bring you a wide variety of paranormal events, including private ghost hunts, and lectures.

The Wandle House, which is an acronym for the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway, was constructed in 1916 by the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway, with funds contributed by railroaders throughout the system.

​

Originally called the Brewster Railroad YMCA, it was a hotel for the railroad. There were 62 dormitory rooms inside the building, along with a restaurant, movie theater, library (aka the reading room), bowling alley, community center and showers.

 

Throughout the United States, railroad companies partnered with YMCA's to offer housing for railroaders as they traveled across the country.

​

For many years, the YMCA was a hub of activity serving both the railroad and the community. During some of its busiest times the restaurant would serve almost 6,000 meals a month.

​

The building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, closed in 1960 when lodging for the railroaders was no longer needed. The building sat vacant for many years and was shuttered in 1975 after falling into disrepair.

​

In 1976, Norfolk & Western Railway, the owners of the building donated it to the Brewster-Sugarcreek Historical Society.

​

Today the Wandle House is home to the historical society’s museum and “The Station” restaurant, which provides hearty meals to Brewster residents and visitors alike.

​

The Wandle House is one of the newest haunted locations in Ohio. This historical building is almost 15,000 square feet and includes, the Front Lobby, Reading Room, Theater, North Dorm Rooms, West Dorm Rooms, Bowling Alley, Meeting Room, Station Restaurant and the Caboose.

The building (basement and first floor) is heated in winter and air conditioned in summer! The second floor is not.

The investigators break-room includes restroom and full kitchen, including refrigerator and freezer. 

Coffee and water is provided.

​

The break-room also has easy access to your vehicles, which makes it convenient unloading and loading equipment.

 

Parking is located on 1st Street SW, just south of the Wandle House.
